Hate Is A Virus
#HATEISAVIRUS started as a grassroots movement to combat racism and xenophobia against Asian Americans (AAPI) fueled by COVID-19. Since launching in April 2020, Hate Is A Virus has evolved into a nonprofit organization that encourages our community to participate in local and national campaigns, creates safe spaces for dialogue and education, and provides actionable steps in partnership with trusted community leaders and organizations. With our communities' support, we were able to reach our first $1 MILLION milestone to give back to local and national AAPI organizations through our CommUNITY Action Fund.

THE COMMUNITY ACTION FUND BY HATE IS A VIRUS
The CommUNITY Action Fund was launched in February 2021 with the goal of raising $1 million for community organizations on the ground. Local and national organizations have been working to dismantle these systemic issues and many for decades. This initiative exists to further amplify the work that these organizations are doing and help fund their projects as well.
As an extension of the Hate Is A Virus brand, we wanted the CommUNITY Action Fund sub-brand to embody the values of community and unity. Taking inspiration from street art, I paired Hate Is A Virus’ handwritten font with the timeless, classic and bold Arial, symbolizing the decades of oppression and racism our community has silently endured.
THE CHANGEMAKERS SUMMIT
The Changemakers Summit is a virtual, nationwide AAPI youth conference organized by Act to Change, Hate Is A Virus, & Stop AAPI Hate. Changemakers exists to bring the AAPI youth and advocacy community together to cultivate, support, and inspire its next generation of leadership. By creating safe spaces to engage with one another across different backgrounds, perspectives, and forms of advocacy.
